Modular Buildings

The new Johnsons Cleaners Pods are constructed using SIPS Industries panels.  The modular design means that they are easily transportable, allowing them to be taken wherever they are needed.

One of the advantages of building with SIPs panels over other methods of construction is the speed of build.  This is highlighted in this story, in which 1500 square feet of SIPs roofing panels were installed in 45 minutes for a school in Denver, CO.  The link to the full story is under the cut.

Shows!

We have several shows lined up over the next few months.  We will be on Stand 379 at the Surrey Homebuilding and Renovating Show at Sandown Park on 25th and 26th June 2011.   We have some complimentary passes left for this show, so if you'd like to attend please let us know how many you need and we will send them out to you.

We will also be at the Border Union Agricultural Show in Kelso, on the 29th and 30th July, so we have our fingers crossed for good weather!

There are two Homebuilding and Renovating Shows in November, at Harrogate and Bath respectively, and we are also planning on attending Grand Designs Live at Birmingham NEC in October.

SIPs Australia will also be at Grand Designs Live in Sydney on October 21st to 23rd.  This is the first Grand Designs Live show to be held in Australia, so it's exciting to be involved in it.

If you're planning on visitng any of the shows then we'd love to see you on the stand to discuss your project in person.  If you'd like us to provide a quote, please bring along a copy of your plans in either paper or electronic format to leave with us.

HIA Greensmart Awards 2011

We are delighted that SIPs Industries Australia has been chosen as the winners of the HIA WA Greensmart Partnership Award 2011 for the project featured in this post.
The winning entry was the Landcorp Sales Office, designed by Coda Architects in Perth, WA.  SIPs Industries constructed the building in their factory, then transported in it modules to the site.  The design called for a reduced carbon footprint, along with high levels of efficiency to keep running costs down to the minimum.
The Greensmart judges were impressed that a working prototype has been used to enhance and re-engineer the improved end product. They thought that the project ticked all the boxes for a collaborative approach to innovative design outcomes.
