From SIPS Australia

SORRENTO

SIPS Industries latest project is a 3 storey luxury residence with views of the coast just north of Perth.
SIPS Industries are supplying and installing the roof, external and internal walls and steel.
Being 3 stories there is some need for steel in the build. SIPS panels will work in perfectly to hide all the steel and because of our design there will be no thermal bridging.
Being close to the coast offers its own unique issues for designers and builders SIPS Industries have been able resolved them all.
Built on a strata block access is limited. SIPS Industries panel loads meant the panels could be craned in with the maximum efficiency.

Completed Projects

Another project from SIPs Australia today. This was a self build for a local builder - he had been interested in SIPs for some time, and took the opportunity of building his own house to try out the technology.

With the guidance and assistance from the SIPs Industries Australia team, the client was able to install the majority of the SIPS panels himself, and had his project fully installed within a week.
He was quite happy with the end result and we look forward to working with him again in the future.

Completed Projects

SIPs Industries Australia manufactured and installed the SIPs panels for West Perth Football club.

The project involved building a new staircase for the football shed.  The SIPs team enjoyed the challenge and the owner of the club was so happy with the results that he wants to use our products and services again soon.

Shows!

SIPs Industries Australia are back from the Inaugural Grand Design Live Exhibition at Sydney.

The turnout was very high, with a lot of interest in Kevin McLeod and a number of Australian presenters on the Lifestyle Channel that airs all the programs such as Grand Designs , Location Location, etc.

The SIPs stand was in the Grand Building section on the grand walkway one block back from the Grand Theatre and saw a pretty much constant stream of enquiries.  The first day was a bit of a challenge at 11 hours long!  Congratulations to the new team members who were thrown in at the deep end with a show only a few weeks after starting the job.

All in all the show was successful and worthwhile, with a number of good leads.  Thank you to all those who took the time to visit the stand.

On-going projects

SIPs Australia have been working on this two-storey house in the Jarrah Forests to the south of Perth.    The design incorporates spacious, open living spaces and large windows, which are given extra support thorugh the use of steel A frames.

The location experiences a wide range of temperatures throughout the course of the year, from cold in Winter to heat in Summer.  SIPs were chosen for the thermal envelope of the build due to their thermal efficiency, high levels of insulation and speed of construction.

HIA Greensmart Awards 2011

We are delighted that SIPs Industries Australia has been chosen as the winners of the HIA WA Greensmart Partnership Award 2011 for the project featured in this post.
The winning entry was the Landcorp Sales Office, designed by Coda Architects in Perth, WA.  SIPs Industries constructed the building in their factory, then transported in it modules to the site.  The design called for a reduced carbon footprint, along with high levels of efficiency to keep running costs down to the minimum.
The Greensmart judges were impressed that a working prototype has been used to enhance and re-engineer the improved end product. They thought that the project ticked all the boxes for a collaborative approach to innovative design outcomes.

In the News

One of the big advatages of using SIPs is that the panels are manufactured and cut to size in a fatory setting; this allows for minimal wastage of materials, both during the manufacturing of the kit and on site.

The advantages of this waste reduction are detailed in this article on a SIPs Industries Australia project, first published in the Weekend West Australian Homes section on the 14th May 2011.

SIPs Industries Australia have been in the news again, this time for a sales office which was constructed in the factory then transported to the site in modules.  The project has been entered into the HIA Greensmart Awards 2011, so fingers crossed!

A copy of the article, which first appeared in the Weekend West Australian Homes Liftout on 6th May 2011 is under the cut.  You can see more images of the office in this post.
